Disney World Homeschooler 2015 review & 2016 homeschool event
In September of 2015, we organized a group of Homeschool families to join Magical Homeschoolers from around the country and we met at Walt Disney World. Â We had a great time. Â We had families from all over the United States. We had 3 classes set up for the kids to take. Everyone got to choose which class the kids would take. Â While the kids were in a three (3) hour accredited class learning at Walt Disney Worlds parks, the parents got to have a short date (provided they did not have younger kids to take care of). The three (3) Disney homeschool classes that we had scheduled were:
• Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Exploring Disney Animation of History – 8 -11 years of age.
• Disney’s Epcot – Everyday Chemistry – 9-15 years of age.
• Disney’s Epcot – Experience Synergy in Science – 5-9 years of age.
I had the privilege of being the chaperone for the two older Disney homeschool classes. Â I was very impressed with the organization from Disney and the classes themselves. Â But what else would you expect from Disney? Â The homeschool classes were very hands on and the instructors encouraged the participation of the group and made sure the kids worked together too. Â In the Exploring Disney Animation of History, the kids learned how Animation got started and they also learned to draw Donald Duck. Â Everyone got to participate. Â In Disney’s Everyday Chemistry, the kids learned how Chemistry applies in our everyday life and were encouraged to participate in various experiments.
The kids learned as they interacted and seemed to really enjoy themselves.  While we had plenty of time to learn we also had plenty of time for fun too.  This was a nice way to incorporate school and vacation. The other days the kids and families got to enjoy the parks and have fun as families. Of course later on we made sure to schedule some free time at Walt Disney World, after everyone enjoyed the day in the parks, everyone gathered in Hollywood Studios to enjoy a special private dessert party then headed to see Fantasmic in private section that was reserved just for our Magical Homeschooler group.  These were great seats and it was a great way to end the night.
There are so many ways you can incorporate learning at Disney World. Â Take for instance, Epcot. Â As a homeschool mom, we have visited several of the countries and talked to the cast members that work in those countries about where they are from. Â We have asked them to say something in their language, tell us about their land and what their country is like. Â The innovation buildings have activities that kids can enjoy and while they think they are just having fun, they are actually learning at the same time.
Do you want to learn and play at the same time?  Well we have another opportunity to do just that with our 2016 Disney Homeschooler event. Please leave a comment below if you are interested in learning more about our 2016 Disney Homeschooler event here at Magical Homeschoolers. The Disney homeschool event will be in December of 2016. You can also keep up to date with our Walt Disney World 2016 homeschool events at our Magical Homeschooler Facebook page. More Walt Disney World Homeschooling details to come, so stay tuned.

We’re interested. I’ve looked into it before and found it to be too pricey since they require a park entrance ticket despite being annual passholders. But maybe I can convince hubby this year….
Yes, unfortunately you have to purchase the park tickets and cannot use your annual pass. I will put you on the list to email once details are finalized. Hope you can join us!

Unfortunately Disney changed their rules for their program this year and we were not able to get this scheduled. HOWEVER, Universal Studios would work with us and we have scheduled our Homeschool Event over there instead. Details are in the post “Universal Homeschool Event – December 5-9, 2016”. We hope you all can still join us!
